The best stay in Syracuse!

A land rich in ancient history, in which the evidence of the Greek-Roman period, such as the famous Greek Theater merge with those of the medieval and baroque, as in the famous Cathedral of Santa Lucia.

The enchanting Ortigia, ancient historical heart of the city built on a small coastal island, will amaze you at every corner with its narrow medieval streets, the Palazzi, the baroque churches and its historical and artistic heritage, from Archimede to Caravaggio.

A real gem set in an area of rare beauty, framed by a crystalline sea and citrus-scented gardens.

Discover the island of Ortigia

The main Piazza in Syracuse is Piazza Duomo which is the symbol of the Baroque reconstruction following the earthquake of 1693. The Piazza houses interesting historical and religious buildings; first of all it is possible to notice, thanks to its majestic facade, the stupendous Cathedral, dedicated to the Nativity of Mary, built around the 7th century and restructured after the earthquake. It was built on ancient Greek finds and in particular on a temple, built in honor of the goddess Athens, dating back to the fifth century BC. Next to the Cathedral stands the Palazzo Senatorio, or also called Palazzo Vermexio, the Town Hall, and built by Andrea Vermexio between 1629 and 1633. On the right of the Cathedral, on the other hand, stands the Bishop’s Palace and then the Monaster and the Church of Santa Lucia.
